I’ve joined with these utterly fascinating women because they love me, I love them, and we cackle and cry together… then we make the world a better place.
What have I done? Run a marathon. Worked for safe abortion access. Created a project that encourages people to love their bodies.
Been a wilderness guide. Taught English in Mexico. Lived through a healthy dose of nonsense, and learned to recognize the inexhaustible beauty of the world somewhere along the way.

Hello! I’m not sure if we’ve really met, although I’ve seen your comments around WordPress.
I am eagerly reading about your experiences in Mexico (including teaching English). Spanish is my second language, and, no surprise, most of my cultural exchange has been with norteamericano/Mexican-American/Chicano culture.
Rey Pratt is my great-grandfather. Look him up on Wikipedia; that should explain well why it’s a family thing for me.

I think truly excellent translators are amazing people. When it comes to poetry (and, I imagine, religious texts as well), so much is about the feeling and not just the words.
