About
‘The Sisterwives’ is what happens when nine women decide that alone they are enough, but together they are stronger.
This is where we share our stories. And yours.
This is a safe space to talk about what we’ve been through – and we’ve lived it all – and also a place where past hurts are transformed into something positive and usable.
We’ve known love and loss; mental illness and addiction; struggles with pregnancy and motherhood. We’ve survived rape and abuse.
We’ve loved people who are hard to love.
We’ve both cared for chronically ill family members as well suffered from debilitating illness ourselves.
We’ve persevered in spite of the death of loved ones.
We’ve also been transformed by real love, journeyed far to discover who we are, and along the way we’ve become committed as hell to letting others know,
they are not alone.
Committed to encouraging others to Write Free! and demonstrate that good can come even of the worst pain, when we use the hurt to help others.
This is a place to raise awareness, offer support and provide resources.
This is a place to seek out silver linings.
Darkness into light.
Adversity into strength.
Friendship into sisterhood.
Alone we are enough; together we are STRONGER.
We are The Sisterwives.
I just had a nice little read here through all of your bios. I think it’s inspiring & empowering what you lovely ladies are doing here.
I’m going to pass onto all of you something someone said to me last year that I believe fits all of you. “The power of the women spirit rocks”
It was said by someone just dropping by but, it stuck with me. As I read all of your pages, I was reminded of those kind words. I look forward to reading much more here. 🙂

Wow – yes, that’s such a powerful thought. I can see why it stayed with you. What lovely serendipity that someone should leave that comment with you. Thank you so much for passing it on – that really means a lot.
I’m glad you enjoyed taking a look around 🙂

Hi Ladies! I stumbled upon this blog a couple of days ago, and have been completely hooked ever since. I have read through all the posts here including all of yours bios. It’s been an extremely humbling and extremely empowering experience for me. Humbling because you all are such amazing writers; empowering because it gives me hope that someday I’ll have the strength to talk about my story with as much candor and confidence as you all can. Thank you for this.

Hello Shipra 🙂 How glad I am that you’ve found our blog, and that you’ve enjoyed it so much. That’s awesome feedback to receive, both with regard to the concept, and to the many talented writers whose work we’ve been able to showcase so far. There are some incredible stories – very hard reading, some of them – but all go to support the idea that ‘Together we’re stronger’ (something all of the Sisterwives truly, deeply believe).
I hope that one day you find yourself in a position where you feel able to talk about your own story in such an open way. But these things take time, don’t they, and certainly for our writers so far, a lot of peace-making and healing has occurred. Don’t rush the process. In the meanwhile, thank you for such wonderful support.

I just wanted to say that I quite enjoy reading your blog. It’s really friendly. Which is maybe a weird word for it, but it makes me feel less alone, which I think of as friendly.

The term sisterwives usually refers to the polygamist lifestyle. May I ask if you all share the same husband or simply share the same ideals?

The same ideals – it should (I hope) be apparent through our ethos, the fact that some of us are (or have been) married (to different men), have families which are separate from each others, and that our geographical locations are (in large part) at least hundreds of miles apart, that we aren’t sharing the same chap.

I thought so, but I did have to ask out of simple curiosity. It really wasn’t apparent from your site.

I think you’re the first person to have been uncertain in nearly a year of the site’s existence. In fairness, this section on its own wouldn’t necessarily *definitely* preclude us all being together with one bloke, but a cursory look at our author bios or separate sites would clear matters up.
Thank you for asking respectfully. I appreciate that.

It isn’t for me to judge someone else’s lifestyle choices, so I always try not to offend when asking a question. Also, my apologies for not taking more time to read through all your bios. I’m sure you’re right, that the issue would have been rendered moot, but I thought the simplest way to know was to just ask.
